Local Painters in the Washington D.C. Metro Area

Everywhere in the world everyone thinks their city or area is unique, unlike any other city or area in diversity, or weather, or pollen-count, or ethnic make-up, or whatever. Only in Washington, DC is this unmistakably true. Nowhere else in the world, or at least in the USA is there so much diversity in the private and public sectors, as well as in the ethnic mix. There are many governmental buildings, not surprising since The District of Columbia is the seat of government, but there are also a plethora of other types of buildings related to the government and many not. There are all those foreign government embassy buildings, the offices of people and entities doing business with the governments, and the offices full of lawyers all working on government related issues. Then there are the offices, warehouses and operations of those in support of the government, or the residents of DC, or the schools educating the children of all those people.

It takes a special type of businessman to locate in the Washington metropolitan area, one who can handle serving the true diversity in The District, so there is as much diversity in the businesses as there is in the other segments of the population. Selecting a tradesman, like a painting contractor, is particularly daunting in Washington. The size and diversity of this unique city is such that tradesmen may specialize in one particular area of the market, one small segment out of many. Those painting contractors, who are able, become specialists in several market segments. The successful ones grow by expanding into all or nearly all of the markets in The District.

In order to select an appropriate painting contractor, property managers, general contractors and homeowners have to know which area of expertise each painter has on their resume, or they have to contract with one who has multiple divisions that may be able to complete their project satisfactorily. A search of the business telephone directory and the Yellow Pages yields page after page of listings for painting contractors. The ads all proclaim that each is the right contractor for your projects. A better search location is the internet, because web pages may give a more complete picture of the painter and his resume. Five contractors were chosen for a comparison.
